Membership at MMUSF

  • Mid-Missouri United Sports Foundation is a nonprofit built intentionally and responsibly.

We operate through an annual per-athlete membership to ensure:

    • Athlete safety
    • Professional structure
    • Financial transparency
    • Long-term sustainability

Membership is required only when an athlete participates on an MMUSF-supported team.

  • This is:

    • Once per year
    • Not per tournament
    • Not per month
    • Not automatic unless participating

  • Athlete Protection

    • USA Football insurance coverage
    • Coach certification requirements
    • Background checks

    Organizational Structure

    • Registration & roster management
    • Scheduling and communication systems
    • Payment tracking & transparency

    Growth & Opportunity

    • Access to clinics and training
    • Nonprofit fundraising and grant eligibility
    • Future educational & leadership programming

  • We are intentionally starting small.

    We will not add:
    • More teams
    • More programs
    • More members

    If doing so would compromise:
    • Safety
    • Experience
    • Fiscal responsibility

If growth would dilute quality, we pause.

  • Acceptance into MMUSF is not automatic.

    All partner coaches must:

    • Be USA Football certified
    • Pass background checks
    • Follow MMUSF safety and ethics policies

Final acceptance is determined through board review and vote.

  • Q: Is this required for every athlete?
A: Only if participating on an MMUSF-supported team.

    Q: Is this per tournament?
    A: No. It is annual.

Q: Does this replace tournament fees?
A: No. Tournament fees remain separate.

Q: Why not just use GroupMe?
A: We use structured systems that provide insurance alignment, roster management, and financial transparency.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • MMUSF is a nonprofit foundation, not a single league. Sport is the vehicle we use to support youth development. We utilize our network to supply opportunities to coaches, athletes and families.

  • Membership is per child and only required when an athlete is participating on an MMUSF-supported team.

  • Yes. MMUSF supports multi-sport athletes. We simply expect commitment to scheduled MMUSF team events.

  • MMUSF teams typically fall between recreational and highly competitive. We work with coaches to identify the best leagues and tournaments for each team.

  • Currently, programs may be co-ed. As the foundation grows, we hope to expand into co-ed and focused programs in the future.

  • Growth is based on leadership capacity, coach availability, financial responsibility, and mission alignment.
